In all reality , Hank, you’ve opened yourself a giant bucket of worms . Do you realize the number of religious and ethnic holidays that are celebrated here in the USA. The Woke thing to do is to celebrate them all with Gil ,his family and friends . To all my Woke friends , let the drinks flow .
Berrill actually did a story once about a star Jewish football player named David Greene who skipped a big Friday night game because of a Jewish holiday. Of course, the team lost, and Moonie was critical of him on his radio broadcasts, which led to Gil & company gettin’ into it with Moon.
I’ve been reading this strip for years where did all this other stuff come from. I didn’t know that gil had kids and what’s with volleyball? Where’s the football issues? Only one game so far and it’s already October!!!
Sheesh, this was the perfect time for Kaz to call time out to wish everyone a meaningful Yom Kippur. Oh well. And speaking of meaningful, what more meaningful way to spend part of your day then by reading today’s Mopped Up Thorp?
BREAKING THE YOM KIPPUR FAST WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS AT SUNDOWN OF THE SECOND DAY…A TIME-HONORED TRADITION!!! MAY YOUR FAST HAVE BEEN AN EASY ONE; AND MY YOUR YEAR BE SWEET!!!
“G’mar chatima tova’ is the traditional Hebrew greeting said before (and on) Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the Jewish year and the culmination of the High Holiday season. It translates as, “a good final sealing,” in the Book of Life, in which we are inscribed on Rosh Hashanah and sealed on Yom Kippur.”

Eh, a Yom Kippur strip’s just as valid as a Thanksgiving/Christmas one. (To the degree that anyone depicted is an observant Jew, anyway!)

Congrats to Keri for managing to remain vegan for all of 15 minutes. Better than most teenaged activist-wannabes manage.

Looks like Mimi talking, with 3 of the 5 others looking at her. But if she eating that bagel WHOLE? Atone for that one.

Where did Kaz met Rachel? The Milford Whole Foods Store? Valley Fitness? Milford Town Park City Lake while he was trolling teens?

What is this woke crap, pushing Jewish traditions on us? I’m gone after 58 years of reading!
Since at least one person won’t get it, that was blatant sarcasm.

This strip makes less and less sense, I’m done. Someone message me when they hire a writer.

Definition of WOKE: when no one else gives a *&$%, someone has to mention the term, so the others can jump up and claim they’re offended, also.
