YES! When the Great Pumpkin doesn’t appear, it will be Patty’s fault for offending him.

what sorts of gift does the “Great Pumpkin” usually bring, Linus? never seen you have anything to brag about like a pencil pack, notebook, a bicycle, a train set, etc.

The only way to appease the Great Pumpkin will be a sacrifice now, Peppermint Patty.

Gotta feel for P. Patty. Halloween is a great time to get a baseball glove for a present. Just think of a more perfect time to play the game of summer in all those days of November. (Okay maybe they don’t live in Minnesota. Maybe the Peanuts gang moved to Melbourne, Australia.)

Note to Peppermint Patty: Rather than a baseball glove, you could have hoped for toy animal character gloves similar to the ones animal cartoon characters Mickey Mouse, Bugs Bunny, Bullwinkle, and Sonic the Hedgehog wear.

We laugh at Linus for believing he’ll receive presents from the Great Pumpkin. Then we go out and buy a lottery ticket.

If the Great Pumpkin is really great why would he be offended? It seems this new cult is developing an angry god theology. The GP is to be feared lest his wrath be kindled.

The Norwegian translation made Linus sound even more like religious about the GP. There,he told Peppermint Patty “Your sin is unforgivable!”

I think I see why the Great Pumpkin never caught on. Not only is it weighing between a chance of present vs bag of candy, you can’t even ask for something specific?

Now I’m Confused. I thought Veteran’s Day was in November and we just had a Veteran’s Day strip a few days ago. Did GoComics save this one for today or did they change the date of Veteran’s Day after ’75?

The cornerstone of any religion is having reasons for why you didn’t get what you prayed for. One is that god knows that it’s better for you if you don’t get what you want. The other is that you f’ed up.

Yep, Apple has essentially taken away the tradition of being able to see the Charlie Brown holiday specials on regular TV. But sadly they don’t seem to understand that. People don’t want to have to go onto their service to see them, they want to see them on actual TV like they used to be.
