There was a funny TV episode subplot back in the ‘80s about a “Nielson family” that felt all sorts of pressure because they felt like they held the fate of TV shows in their hands. They agonized over shows that were canceled because they didn’t watch them enough. I don’t even remember what show it was. It was a funny subplot, though.
