Another good trick is to tighten his pants waist a little bit over time. When they get to a certain point, he will take notice and maybe try to diet a bit. Then, after he has done that for about 2 weeks, length that line about an inch.

This whole this arc does not make sense. If this is day two of having the clocks set back that means they likely would have gotten up and had breakfast and lunch late. So if he had lunch at 12 new time it is only 3.5 hours since he had lunch and should not be that hungry. They don’t have a radio/TV? Nelson coming over after school at 1?

I can’t eat late at night—if I do, I can’t sleep. Much past 8 and it’s like a rock in my stomach.

At least offer him a few carrot and celery sticks, or 6 almonds.

Isn’t mealtime pushed back for her too? Maybe she sneaks snacks.
