I wish Mike would tell a story set in the current century that does not involve obscure comics of yesteryear. Old geezers who pine for old comics make my interest in the strip wane sorry
Iâm surprised that Vitamin can actually crouch down like that at his age, the arthritic old goat⌠those nocturnal boudoir sessions with Kandi must be improving his physicalities⌠LMAOâŚ
So, so far in this story weâve basically seen Robert ask his uncle to call in a favor with Patterson Playhouse to audition for a role in a new production, & Sam asking Tracy to call in a favor with Vitamin Flintheart to see rehearsals of that production. Either Mike is setting up some kind of dramatic meeting, or else heâs run out of ideas. Letâs see.
Perfect timing SamâŚyou got to the theater after the auditions. But in plenty of time for rehearsals. I suppose Vitamin has come a long way from Shakespeare âTo be or not to be that is the questionâ.
Careful,Sam.The last time you were backstage at a theatre Gruesome locked you in a trunk.
Speaking of showbiz, anybody remember the Yollman story from 1942(right after BB Eyes)??
Tracy got involved in a romantic triangle between 3 famous actors. In the end, everybody forgave everybody else and it was probably the only Tracy story where he made no arrests!!
The storyline grinds on, with Sam and amenable Vitamin exploring the arcana of theatre fans. But Sam is in for the rehearsal, and per Vitamin will have a meet-and-greet with Robert Parrish/âDerby Duganâ; I suppose that is a Good Thing.

Good morningâ˘, everyone!
You bet heâd like to meet the actor. This is better than opening night. Heâs an audience of one.

Good morningâ˘, hero worshipers (fanboys) !
Sam humbles before the Master. Vitamin shows gratitude for all the scrapes MCU has gotten him out of.

Sam is a much of a fanboy as Robert is⌠maybe heâll weasel a selfie and an autograph onto his playbillâŚ

Fun Fact: Itâs now been four months since weâve seen the old man in the garage with legal documents that may be important to Tracy some day.

Donât get me wrong, Iâm not saying the recent stories are bad, just predictable and pedestrian!

Sam: "Not particularly. But I would like to take you up on your âall you can eat life-time popcornâ offer."

Considering Vitamin always calls Tracy âRichardâ, Iâm surprised he doesnt call Sam âSamuel.â

SoooooâŚ. We have a new (supposedly) bad guy: Steelface⌠But no new crime/bad stuff? When do we get to find out what Steelface is up to?

Since Vitamin is so formal with Tracy, calling him Richard (instead of Tracy, or, even Dick,) wouldnât he address Sam as Samuel?

âEgads, I just recalled something. He will only meet with the COMMON people if they bankroll the production. No personal checks.â

1-SUGAR DADDY:* Hello? Why no â This is NOT the _You Stab âEm, We Slab âEm funeral home. What? No, Mike Hunt is not here. Good day!
2-âŚHello Sam! Having you here will be just like Opening Night in that the play will still stink and weâll have one audience member!
3-SAM:* Iâm not staying. I just wanted to suggest a Burlesque Show featuring your gold digger wife.
SUGAR: A wonderful suggestion! That is, if she can get leave at the Bare âEm Harem Gentlesmanâs Club.
SAM: Really? Never mind. Thatâs at 34th and Main, right?
