When my maternal grandfather (mother’s father) died the month before my widowed father remarried, I technically did get another grandfather (as well as another grandmother), but he lasted only two years. Maternal grandmother died the following year and stepmother’s mother is still alive and well. As for father’s parents, they died before both my older brother and I were born.

Saw a “strange behavior” news thing today: The family collected the kid’s baby teeth and had an artist friend carve beavers with baby-tooth incisors.

When I go, I want my ashes scattered in a beautiful spot where the kids and grandkids would like to go anyway. The easy chair… not so much.

Nelson won’t know the difference!

Roscoe dying not a pleasant thought , kids do bring up things to think about!

My wife says she is going to have my ashes put in an hour glass so she can keep me working. HAHAHA

She’s been stuffing him 3 times a day forever. Nothing new there.

She says that NOW, Earl…but let’s see what happens when the occasion does happen!

When Bullet died, Roy Rogers had the dog stuffed and mounted and put in his museum. When Buttermilk dies, Roy Rogers had her stuffed and mounted. When Trigger died, Roy Rogers had him stuffed and mounted. Dale Evens made sure she outlived Roy.

“Actually, I won’t be stuffed. Grandma will just wait for Roscoe and Muffin to consume me, and then you’ll have a really neat-o skeleton!”

Roscoe likes that. He’ll still have Earl’s lap to sleep on.

Granmas gonna dump Earl in the chest freezer. Keep those pension checks coming.

If you have a hip replacement and are cremated, the titanium hip replacement is removed(doesn’t burn) and offered to the family as a letter opener. I am going to pass on that one.

Pickles is a great comic and I like how you all comment. I just began a sign-in so comments new to me. So many of these scripts remind my husband and I of ourselves. :)

Roy Rogers said that when he died he wanted to be stuffed and mounted and put up on the stuffed-and-mounted Trigger…but when the time came they chickened out.

More and more useful.

Taxidermy at it’s finest. When I was a kid and they had those Indian statues for some cigar company, people told me it was a stuffed thing.

This would have our Ed Gein proud.

I’ve had lots of dogs in my life but, after my beloved Pom died, I decided not to ever have another dog. I’ve mourned all my pets, but this one hit me so hard that I just couldn’t bear to go through another dog’s death.

Will Roscoe have an extra cushion?

Please, dogs don’t die in the comics, that would be unnatural! They live on, in repeats if necessary, forever. Snoopy’s older than I am, after all.

And Roscoe looks like he’s looking forward to sitting on that easy chair after Earl is gone.
