I remember my sister’s friend working briefly at the local McDonald’s some years back. One day, she recognized my voice at the drive through and thought my order sounded like something my sister would order. She thought I was ordering it for my sister and told me she threw in some extra food for her. She was fired a few weeks or a month later because they traced inventory shortages back to shifts she worked on. Nice girl, but not the brightest bulb in the box.
Reminds me of when I was in high school during the mid-70’s and a friend across the street got a job at a pizza place. Every so often when he’d close, he brought a pizza home with him, rapped on my window to wake me up and he’d crawl in so we could munch out at 2 in the AM. Good pizza, good friend, GREAT memory.
You all are very lucky. Once I went to Burger King, where one of my niece’s had just begun working. She tried to overcharge me. I think it was an accident.
You moron, you never go on a persons first day, unless you don’t want them to have a second day. You wait a week until they have established themselves, THEN you go get free food.
When I was young, a couple of guys in the group I was hanging out with worked at a local Pizza Place. We all got to know the Proprietor pretty well and sometimes, if we drove by a few minutes before closing, we would get a free pizza…
Not on the first day he won’t; or if he does, he’s unlikely to last long if Luigi isn’t a complete pushover. After he’s been there awhile he might get away with it.
Daughter worked at a movie theater. We would be waiting for her to come home after work so we could munch on the large bag of leftover popcorn. Another time at a chicken place, guy asked if we wanted a deal on some bird close to closing time. Got a bucket with a lid that couldn’t fit on top anymore…

Pete is forgetting on critical point; his friend doesn’t own the place.

My daughter went with a few friends to a nearby McDonald’s. One of their friends worked there. They got a whole tray of free fries.

I think you need to be there a while before you start handing out freebies.

People who work in restaurants are too busy to talk to you, so forget it

Will likely get fired for giving away food.

If this place is like the “Luigi’s Pizza” where I lived as a teenager, free would be overcharging.
