Just what I said yesterday. What was the point of this whole thing? Christmas past, present and future were duds. Our hopes for today’s strip to tie it all up together in a nice package has turned into a lump of coal in our stockings.
So Charles Dickens stole it from THEM… which.. fair enough. No one knows Unicorns exist and he likely still wrote an entire novel after they pulled that. Their just likely more angry he didn’t keep them as unicorns.
Marigold was taking the part of Jacob Marley complete with chains in the first episode of this story arc. This suggests that the tradition is for a unicorn to take the place of Jacob Marley and choose the human who is closest to them for the part of Ebeneezer Scrooge. As I said before, its another tradition which has lost its original meaning.
Let’s wrap up this story arc with an excerpt from the conclusion of the original novel:
And it was always said of Phoebenezer, that she knew how to keep Christmas well, if any girl alive possessed the knowledge. May that be truly said of us, and all of us! And so, as Timothy Diminutive Stature observed, God bless Us, Every One!

If unicorns thought they needed to stage an intervention, you know that guy was doing some messed up stuff.

It’s sort of like Marigold’s father Rutherford B. Hayes saying a certain U.S. president is named after him, isn’t it?

Marigold says “long ago”, but she didn’t say how long ago. I’m certain she stole it from Charles Dickens to give unicorns credit for things again.

Stolen or not, it’s not like unicorns are making any money off this. Do they even use money?

Humans stole everything from unicorns. Including stealing things from unicorns.
