Yeah I gave the strip a day to see if Rayna had specific viewpoints and this storyline would be more nuanced but.. it’s shockingly dated to have a character protest a horror movie.. just for being a christmas horror movie. These kinds of protests happened in the 70’s and 80’s for say black christmas or silent night deadly night.. and were dumb then. It’s not wrong to explore a darker side to christmas, it dosen’t mean you can’t enjoy the joy and spirit of it too. It’s just another setting and way to do horror. Rayna dosen’t have to like Slaybells.. but she dosen’t have to try and prevent other people from seeing it, epsecially when this sort of protest will just make more people aware this sequel exists.
Guess I’m the odd duck out here. I don’t care for slasher movies at all, any time of the year, much less ones in which Santa and company are supposedly the bad guys. If the movie makers are waiting for me to pay to see one of these, they are rapidly going to go broke. I vote with my wallet and just say no to disgusting things. If others want to watch it, fine, but mark it ‘X’ for violence and don’t let kids watch them. Those kinds of films are adult fare.

Just out of curiosity, what about the six previous Slaybells movies?

What was the name of the fake movie they were making in Scrooged? It was something like Slaybells

Mrs. Claus’ evil stepson Rolfe?
Would that be Santa’s son from a previous marriage?

They need to get back to the traditional Christmas movies like Die Hard and Lethal Weapon.

If Mrs. Claus has a stepson, wouldn’t that be Santa’s son? Or is the stepson from Mrs. Claus’ previous marriage?

Strips like this one make me realize how “out of it” I am. Never heard of this movie, never mind the previous six!

Then don’t see it, Rayna. But the producers thank you for the free publicity!
