Now, where’s Mom with the hot cocoa?
Bonus!
to each their own
If I sees polar vortices, then I gives thumbs up for this!
It looks like there’s a face in the fire in the last panel.
Lovely.
Better against than in.
A hot tiger tummy will warm you through and through!
I’m glad that we are seeing this as Calvin sees it rather than as Mom and Dad see it. Mom and Dad’s view of Hobbes as a doll works well at times but this one is more suited to Calvin’s view of Hobbes than their view.
One of the all-time C&H classics!
The perfect night!
I have a fire to watch everyday….just need a tiger.
This feels more like Red & Rover.
Funny how, sometimes, we can surround ourselves with the most dangerous things imaginable and take a nap.
Even Cal has his ‘soft’ side. In this case it’s Hobbes’.
Not always true, especially if the warm crackling fire is your house!
A sound asleep Calvin is a Calvin not into mischief…let sleeping kids sleep…
Let sleeping tiger lie. Good call Calvin.
The complete joy of childhood which is practically impossible to achieve in adulthood.
Perfect scene for a cold Winter’s day…
Works with sunbeams, too.

lacking a tiger, a good sized dog will suffice.
He should count himself lucky to have parents that properly tend the fire to keep it bright and crackling…
Just love the details in this strip. Watterson was a master at his craft
An immortal tale. Ever since H.S. discovered fire and snuggled with their saber-tooth tigers.
One of my all-time favorites, yay!
Bill Watterson captures so much magic in three panels. Amazing.
I always loved the shadow effects in these late 80s “Calvin and Hobbes” strips. Bill Watterson is a real artist.
I could use both of those things right now. I am struggling to stay warm.
Great art!
Life is good, for now.
My favorite Calvin Strip!
this one is just plain sweet. Love it.
Calvin’s situation may be different, but I would not be comfortable napping with my head on a tiger’s stomach.
Yhe furry feline is laid out in the best position to soak the heat.
I don’t have a tiger, but I have eight cats. Does that count?
