Back to work at the office today suckers! It feels great to be retired. My, my, it really feels that these next two weeks really are like the 12 days of Christmas holidays!

A neighbour is a manager in the federal government. He tells me the work-from-home routine isn’t getting things done nearly as fast as in the office. The employees union is going to court to fight the back-to-work rule.

In Canada, the UK and many of the commonwealth countries around the world today is Boxing Day. A shopping holiday similar to Black Friday in the US.

You deserve the whole week off. Relax, watch some bowl games, eat your favorite snacks, and above all ban your Mother-In-Law from visiting.

The typical response of Gladys, to be concerned about whether Brutus kept the money coming in, rather than the possible illness of her husband. I suppose it’s only natural. Her mother probably only sees Brutus’ purpose to pay for everything, his only redeeming quality.

I do conference calls sometimes. The ol’ days were wonderful, you could sit in your robe. Now we have video conferencing. I have to make the effort to be presentable from the waist up!

Brutus would rather phone it in today, and he’s really hoping for a busy signal.

Just tell him your mother is coming over, that’ll get him back to work.

Wow – what a wonderful mysterious strip today! Did Veebs give him the holiday week off (very off brand)? Did Veebs can him (and lose Veebs in the strip – unlikely without a suitable substitute)? Is Brutus going to pull a Johnny Paycheck (“take this job and shove it”)? Does Brutus have unused PTO or vacation (again, a workplace benefit from the Boss?!) Is Brutus planning on a quick change into work clothes? Or will he try to pull the fake sick day gambit? The mind boggles!

Buck up Brutus, you don’t dare risk irritating Veeblefester now, remember your year end bonus could be at stake.

Perhaps a (very) wide tie with the bathrobe? Call it the ‘sweater weather’ style. Only to the bottom of your online ‘Zoom cubicle’.
