There is so much going on here. Is Janis picking the month to display by the calendar artwork? If so, why only one cat and one sailboat? I can see having a clock in the bathroom but what’s up with a calendar?

    Doing things right takes time.

    Doing things wrong takes time.

Getting around to doing anything at all is EXTREMELY time consuming.

Being retired makes calendars superfluous. Every day is just a day.

Janis commenting and is relieved that their calendars are up to date. Whether she is perturbed or relieved that they took 7 days to change the calendars is irrelevant. The funny thing is that no one bothered to look at the silly things in the house… so why do this all over again.

We use the one in the bathroom to determine how we dress on days when we have doctor appointments. OB-GYN or dermatologist, something easy to get out of and back into, Podiatrist loose legs and easy on off shoes. Internist or cardiologist short or easy roll up sleeves and tops that fully unbutton. Y’all get the drift, eh?

Considering how many calendars I get sent, hanging 12 of them, one set to each month, and just leaving them for the year might make sense.

Nobody needs that many calendars, except for the “special” calendars that go up in the garage.

It’s Arlo that hung them as he wanted them. I like Arlo; he’s quirky and lives his own way

This is a joke about habit. “Because we’ve always done it this way” even tho it isn’t really needed or used anymore. The old rarely looked at calenders on the wall, new ones in his hand, 3 in panel 1, 2 in panel 2, 1 in panel 3.

Where’s the racing tire show girl calendar? She’s supposed to hang on the hallway closet door!

Before I retired, I used a calendar as a day-planner for work purposes. Now I use one to keep track of our Doctor’s & Dentist appointments, Seniors day at the Grocery, Free lunch days at the Senior center ETC.

If they saved the 2017 calendars, they can just put them back up for 2023.

I have 2 calendars that I re-use every year. One is a desk-sized Doonesbury from 1984. I write important/interesting things that happen on the date. For example, on today’s date in 1988, my sister-in-law’s mother passed away; my cousin’s daughter was born in 1998, and I adopted a 14 yr-old Lhasa Apso from a friend (he was going off to college) in 2001.The other is a 2005 wall calendar featuring MINI Coopers. I just change the month to one that corresponds to the current month. For example, May 2005 also started on a Sunday, just like this month. The featured MINI is a 1971 model.

We get 4 free calendars – Mount Vernon – nice big monthly calendar, Colonial Williamsburg (we are long time members – used to be a nice big calendar past few years) small nice calendar, Chinese takeout place – bamboo calendar, and insurance broker for our reenactment unit (I am treasurer and deal with him) – old fashioned insurance broker desktop calendar.

Mount Vernon one goes up in our office and I change page monthly – when I remember. Husband gets the desk calendar – other two sit in one of the shelves in the desktop file holder I have. We once bought an annual pass to Mt Vernon – and they keep sending the calendars.
