And the wealthiest pay the least taxes. It would help if we had a better tax code.

That’s nothing, Gary, you should have seen the budget blowing, deficit cratering 2017 Tax Cut and Spend Scam that was passed.

This one is an actual bipartisan legislation that was hammered out by both Republicans and Democrats, instead of the Tax Cut and Spend Scam that was entirely done by Republicans.

True, if Varvel and Republican have their way — all taxes will be paid by the middle and lower classes, NONE by wealthy people and patriotic multinational corporations.

So Mr. MarVarvelous, why did all those GOPQ vote for this bill and every similar one that preceded it over the years?

Duh! Mr. Varvel, that’s kind of how it works. You are paying for years past expenditures. If the bill is not passed, you and your grandchildren will be paying much more in the future.

Cutting your income when you’re already falling short of funding needs has never been wise. Same goes for cutting your income as you start a war. Keeping massive spending off the books doesn’t mean money isn’t being spent.

I’ve been reading/hearing this argument for decades. If the economy grows, then there will be more incoming revenue because of that growth WITHOUT raising taxes, right? Doesn’t government spending prime the economic pump? If people are willing to invest in the US (bonds, T-bills, etc.), why the angst? Why the lack of faith in America and Americans? Maybe it’s just fear and/or a lack of understanding of big numbers?

Is Varvel anti-military? Thinks of soldiers the way Trump does? About half that money the bill allocates goes to Defense.

It’s almost like Varvel and friends have forgotten all of our tax money Republicans have given away to the military slush fund, corporations, and religion.

Same incorrect trope the far-right always uses about any spending bill they dislike, but Gary has been recycling the same unoriginal themes for years.

No kidding. The amount we spend on the military is more than what the next 9 Countries of the World spend combined .. 6 of which are our allies. Our one Country spends 38% of the total spent on militarism of all Countries on the globe.

When does too much spending become enough ? Please give us taxpayers a break !

Children, yet unborn, will be forking out for the excessive spending of our generation. If we want to waste great sums on $500 hammers and tanks the military does not want, the least we should do is pay for it out of our own pockets.

Still deflecting from the fact that the lion’s share of government benefits, including tax breaks, goes to the oligarchs who pay the legislators to pass bills that they wrote for themselves.

Dems want to improve the country and people’s lives with their tax dollars but all of that money should go to rich people so republicans can get kick backs to run on so they can give rich people more tax dollars.

Still paying for the Trump tax breaks for rich people that put the country deep in debt. Republicans hate to help real American tax payers.

Trump laughed about his election lies while on the phone with Sidney Powell: Hope Hicks

Among the items included in the full report published by the House Select Committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on Congress was testimony from top White House aide Hope Hicks, who had returned to the White House in the final year of Donald Trump’s presidency. In the first chapter, the report discusses the Nov. 19 press conference with Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell and Jenna Ellis at the Republican National Committee (RNC) headquarters in Washington. Powell told the press that there was a “massive influence of communist money through Venezuela, Cuba, and likely China in the interference with our elections here in the United States.”

Republicans only love the lying thieves that work for them.

‘Embarrassing’: Trump was ashamed of losing to Biden — according to Hutchinson J6 transcript

The transcript of former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson is perhaps drawing the most attention from the recently published Jan. 6 Committee report. The possible initial influence and direction to mislead the committee initially received most of the spotlight, and now the actual content of the questioning is being brought to the light via transcript. Hutchinson’s transcript reveals what many suggested from the start—Donald Trump knew all along he had fairly lost the election.

I just want to point out that Presidents don’t write or pass bills, they only sign off on them. Also the bill got 68 votes, so some Republicans support it.

Gary if you don’t understand how government works and where the money comes from maybe you shouldn’t be a political cartoonist. You see no matter which party spends the money the tax payers pay for it now it’s true that every time the Republicans take office they lower taxes for their donors. But here is the catch: they don’t cut spending they just borrow the difference and we get to pay the interest and principle later on when the Democrats try to get the budget balanced. The long and short of it is that it always our money the trick is in figuring how to make those that benefit from the infrastructure and services pay their appropriate share or tell Bezos to build his &^&^%% roads.

There appraise to be those among us who are unaware that the budget was balanced before Dubya became POTUS, and he fixed that problem by signing a massive tax cut bill passed by his Republican congress. The first such massive tax cut bill was signed by Reagan, and the most recent by the former guy. The current national debt is all but completely the result of those three tax cut bills.

Girl should count her blessing about the current situation with Biden and Democrats holding the Senate. If Republicans get congress and presidency again, they might institute compulsory child labor (for families under a certain income level) to pay for eliminating corporate taxes.
