Brutusâ annual salary is in the âmillions of dollarsâ? He must be much more valuable to the company than the Chief gives him credit for. He doesnât want to admit it though.
This may well be apocryphal, but supposedly, Robert Crandall, the head of American Airlines in the 80âs came up with the idea to remove 1 olive from the salads on a flight across the airline. According to the story, the move saved AA $100,000 a year.
Chiefâs a funny guy. Heâs a treasure. That should be buried. Actually, if he treats every employee the same as he treats Brutus, that is a business model destined for the destruction of his company. Then again, it just may be Chiefâs and Brutusâs personal relationship and Chief will appreciate the idea once he hears itâŠ.
He could hear Brutus out first, but that would be out of character, since he doesnât really listen. Brutus should just go back to his office and do his work. If he had big ambitions, he could take his idea to a competitor, assuming his idea would apply to businesses other than tea cozies. He wonât do that.

gopher gofer about 2 years ago

Although it is the normal âshtickâ of the comic, today it makes me feel especially sad for Brutus. That is a crappy thing to tell him (or anyone).

âI was going to say: develop a management style that involves you being less of a wiseacre.â

Just for that nasty crack, Brutus should keep his great idea to himself. Of course, Veeblefester wonât care about him doing that either.

Wow!! Boss has 9 bags of money on display, in panel one, only 8 in panel 2! Best day ever on Wall St.!
