We had a pastor and his wife who brought their toy poodle over to my house. My cat was not happy about that dog in her house. She puffed up too.

Dogs and kittens can get along with each other. Just look at this video:

Who says only blowfish can do that?

No dogs welcome. Allergies abound. Cats only.

My very large dog is friendly, but would knock over half the furniture in the house trying to play with that dog – and might accidentally squish the small dog to boot.

Do not bring a pet to someone’s house without their prior permission. There are a lot of reasons they may not be welcome, including personal preference, children, other pets, concerns about cleanliness, and allergies.

Unless a pet is overtly invited, leave them home. Not everyone loves YOUR dog like YOU do. On the other side of the coin, don’t touch my animals unless invited to do so.

My two aren’t impressed by dogs either.

We were those people, when it was just us and our dog. Later, when other people did it, we realized that no one cares about your dog like you do!

I knew this older coupe, they had a stroller for their dog. I would see them in the store with it. They also had 2-way radios, so they could talk to each other if they split up.

She’s in a ‘get out of my house or else’ mood…

I went with my sister to bring her cat to the vet. There were several dogs in the waiting room. Like Peekabo and Rose, the cat was on top of my head. When the vet’s assistant saw that, she decided they had better treat the cat next.

A a different veterinary practice has two waiting rooms, with “CAT” on one door, and “DOG” on the other, each in large letters.

My vet even has different exam rooms for cats and dogs. The cat exam rooms have pheromones diffusers, which really help keep cats calm. Unfortunately, the pheromones currently in use aren’t as effective for dogs (per my pet store staff).

I do not permit dogs in my house, no matter how well they are trained. I had a kitty (rescue date was 12-1-2011 – 8-30-2022) that was almost killed by a dog (prior to my rescue) and even the sound of a dog sent her in a panic. I now have a feral (rescue date was 11-01-2017) that isn’t fond of dogs. I love dogs, my kitties not so much and it is their home also.

My cats love our dog. That does not mean they would welcome a strange dog (or cat!) into their space.

Our current brat would probably have taken off after the dog. About the only thing he likes is his dad. Me, I’m his personal slave and chew toy. He looks for opportunities to bite me. We rescued him from under a bush when he was 4 weeks old, so we signed up for the long haul then, biting and nasty attitude not withstanding. Still love him!

Yes, how many of those homes had cats?

We have dogs and cats. At one time we had two dogs and three cats. And then we had 13 dogs and 3 cats. Now we have 3 dogs and 5 cats. The last 2 cats had no difficulty adjusting to the household pack. Right now all three dogs are in front of the fire and 3 of the cats are laying on top of the dogs. The other two cats are having ham sandwiches without the bread or lettuce or onion or tomato or anything else. Just as they like it.

No dogs, no cats, no fish, no birds, no lizards etc. I have always been terrified of animals and we don’t have any pets. Since people coming in the house is rare (especially since we had bed bugs – another type of being one does NOT want in their house) no one even thinks to bring a pet into the house. (Worst of all for me – they had to check the house with a dog for the bed bugs and again a month or so afterwards – I had to go away and leave my husband to deal with the exterminator and his dog both times.)
