“…fun to toss random stuff in a barrel of acid.” She should work at a Clean and Coat line for steel. My (now retired) buddy used to send his rusty tractor parts through the line. A few minutes in HCl followed by a phosphate coating was the underpinning to the best looking paint job at the tractor parade in July.

Someone must have told Amelia about the old Letterman show, where they used to throw things off a tall building or run them over with a steamroller. That was oddly satisfying to watch! Viewers would write in requests – one of my favourites with the steamroller was “a nutritious breakfast”.

Base Camp would be just as good for Amelia. Concentrated or strong bases are caustic on organic matter and react violently with acidic substances.

Waiting for someone to point out that you don’t approach a vat or barrel of acid with bare hands or bare skin (even if you’re wearing googles). Amelia dropping things that close to the barrel is risking acid splash and that ain’t going to be fun for the skin. (Okay, I pointed it out!)

I have made that joke with the same jazz hands. I no longer get invited to dinner parties. Sigh. Rose for the win!

On pane 3, I wonder what that kid is carrying in that box, and why the other kid wants to burn a teddybear to a crisp in acid! Gah!

Yup that joke passes the Litmus test…
