Canāt say I donāt disagree with dadās answer to the 2nd panelās questions. Gone are the days where we can tell our kids, āGo outside and have an adventure! Iāll call you in for lunch and dinner and bedtime!ā. I miss those halcyon days.
Too many screens to look at nowadays. Unfortunately, this old fart has kinda been sucked into it. Not social media, though. Thank God that my 14 year old daughter isnāt into that crap. I remember my friendsā mothers kicking us out to play together and weād just do Star Trek stuff. I was alway Spock. Long live and prosper. LOL
LMAO! I remember the days when my daughter posted a ānoticeā on the boardā¦listing all rules and regulations of TV, X-Box, video games! One rule was to play outside and only spend a few hours a day on the other stuff. It worked out good! āŗļø
For me, cable TV is and has always been a waste of money! When I had it, the only things I watched were the news, MSG for the Knicks, the Discovery channels and occasionally HBO. Tubitv and Crackle suits me just fine. Even YouTube. Lately Iāve been binge watching āHe-Manā.
When did kicking kids out of the house start being called child abandonment or endangerment? I remember those days and they allowed new worlds of play and fun to be created.
My family got a TV in 1951. I was allowed unlimited TV even though my parents took a dim view of what I watched. As a grownup I prefer reading and listening to music. Any weirdness in my personality came from other sources.

Say what you will about the age of streaming, but Iām glad I can choose what I want to watch nowadays instead of the TV choosing for me.

Yup, I rarely watch t.v. these days. 100 channels and nothing worth watchingā¦ā¦..

I have a TV in my home office. I might use it as much as two hours a day at night. Some evenings not at all.

My dad called the TV the āsquare eyed squak boxā and never watched it much, but I noticed he listened to it from the other room pretty intensely.

And dad gets a few minutes of blissful silence.

Normally [if that word can ever be used to describe him] Cal would have enjoyed the extemporaneous launch and landing.

Most of us remember a time when having a TV channel, especially one with network affiliation, was a guaranteed moneymaker.
