Pluto … no longer a planet? What is this solar system coming to?

Ah yes, going back to the Pluto debacle.

DEFINITION OF A PLANET AND WHY PLUTO IS NO LONGER ONE.

A “planet” 1 is a celestial body within the solar system that (a)

is in orbit around the Sun, (b) has sufficient mass by its own gravity

to overcome the rigid body forces so that it assumes a hydrostatic equilibrium (nearly round) shape, and © HAS CLEARED the vicinity of its orbit…. So, dear children. What do we learn from this? If you refuse to do your chores, you will lose your status!

Pluto had it coming.

It’s nice to see that Oldbot has his priorities in order.

Oldbot would know about Pluto’s demotion. That happened in 2006 — just over SIXteen years ago.

Well I’ve always wondered why Goofy can talk but Pluto can’t.

It will happen, One bright morning Earth will be declared no longer a planet. What will we do then?

It’s incorrect to say that Pluto is “no longer a planet.” It’s just a different classification of planet, a “dwarf planet.” Think of it as a minor-league planet.

It was bad enough when you had to remember that Pluto isn’t always the ninth planet from the Sun. :)
