Quoted from Dictionary.com: “Fink is an insulting name that commonly refers to someone who informs the police or other authorities when others break the law or the rules—an informant or snitch. It can also be used as a verb in the same way that snitch can.”
Gina has just done what the insult means! I don’t know whether or not Nate really deserves that detention. He was trying to help her after all.
So, where has Dee Dee gone? I was hoping for an honest discussion between the two girls which might have led somewhere interesting – Dee Dee attempting to give Gina a personality makeover, and a “new Gina” emerging and facing challenges amongst her peers. But this is just the same old, same old.
Case in point. Gina reminds me of a former student. She argued with me over a 3 point deduction on a test. In lecture I’d emphasized a key point in the process that she left out. She just had to have a perfect score and fussed for several weeks after, always asking if something was going to be on the test.
Gina has a promising future as a liberal. Lots of knowledge but unwilling to accept reality while whining about everything she doesn’t like and expecting others to solve those issues.
Never been a fan of hypocritical humor, nor of Nate getting intro trouble when he doesn’t deserve it. Everything he said was true (even if he was laying it on a little thick). This is another fixture of the post-modern era I’m not a fan of. Pierce seems to have forgotten that for the punchline of “Nate getting into trouble” to work, he needs to… Do something to deserve it? Godfrey is mean but not to the extent of sending Nate to detention just like that.
2/10, a perfect example of a weak Big Nate strip. All this buildup for “Nate going to detention”, and if I didn’t know that there would be more to this arc, I would call it one of the worst.

Arrogance. Haughty. Superiority complex. Thinks she’s all that and a bag of vegan pork, also. Gina’s Aquarius, isn’t she?!

This story arc went nowhere because of Nate.

Bruh. You don’t have to send someone to detention because they insulted you. Tell them to apologize!
Strip rating: 2/10 This arc has just ended up being a complete flop.

Unwilling to hear Nate out, no hesitation, just sending him away on the spot. Mrs. Godfrey is a terrible teacher.

I’m not often on Nate’s side on matters, but Mrs. Godfrey really needs to go soak her head on this one.

Nate should have paused and told Gina, in front of Mrs Godfrey, that Gina just proved him right.

Gina’s being kind of a tattle tale imo. When I was insulted when I was her age, I either sucked it up or insulted them back. And I still do.
