I read recently that most (pet) goldfish die from drowning in their own urine because their bowls don’t get cleaned often enough.

Nothing funny about a dead pet. My little goldfish swims right up to me when I near his tank; and no, I don’t over feed him and I keep his water clean.
Dads are never sentimental about dead pets.
“Don’t push your luck, kid — I’m putting up with being part of this lame-a$$ funeral for a fish. Besides, it was your pet, so what have you got?”
