Many a little makes a mickle as us Scots always say. Another saying of ours has been pennies make dimes and dimes make dollars.

Record/CD stores and arcades use to be everywhere. Glad I got to enjoy them while we had them.

Typical teenager…..his money is to have fun…..Mom is supposed to fill the gas tank.

Gordon must be doing well at his job in order to afford all that garbage.

Michael is sure growing up fast. He’s acting like a twenty something already.

If you didn’t earn it, it’s easier to spend it.

You’ll save a lot more by taking the bus from now on. If that’s to much, walk.

To be fair to Michael, how much gas could he have possibly used on a drive to the mall?

Maybe he should start saving up for a car too.

That’s right, Michael – I forgot: your parents’ income has to be below a certain level for you to qualify for a scholarship. And yes, you need to go back and put gas in the car; otherwise, use public transit.

All that spending of Michael’s and his kind? No wonder why the country is called Canadebt.

But honey, that $20 I gave you was to fill the tank, and you keep the change.

Why save just to pay the college and university grifters their inflated tuitions and fees? As goverentment support, student loans and subsidies grew over the last few years, so has the costs of going to higher education grown.

and how do you expect to commute to and from campus, Mike, if you don’t fill up your car?

This was after OPEC raised the price of oil initially, and gas prices went soaring. From around 10c to 50c / gallon. But now the difference between $4.50 and $5.00 / gallon is no big deal

That was then and now a standard answer, but now at 75 mine is “I can’t remember.” Works good too.

Wasted a semester on junk, but can’t fill up the car? Grounded.

Lent my niece my car while hers was being serviced… yes, she filled it with some gas.

Except she then used that gas and returned it with barely a 1/8th tank! “But I put gas in it!” Yeah, you used it girl! :-P
