I have it on the table at the other side of the bed which takes me two rollovers to get to. Then I can’t find the off button without my glasses or a light on so that wakes me up. Luckily I don’t need to set it very often – retired.

Get a more basic alarm. One time, no snooze. Get up when it goes off. Or don’t, and face the consequences.

(If I needed to design the perfect way for people to train themselves to ignore an alarm – I’d invent the snooze button.)

When I was a freshman in college, I used to put my alarm clock on the far side of the dresser at the foot of my bed. My roommate told me that one morning, when the alarm rang, I got up out of bed, walked to the dresser and shut off the alarm. I then walked back to bed, lay down and went right back to sleep. I had no memory whatsoever of doing this, but I believed him.

I thought it would be funny to put a mallet beside my bed to hit my alarm clock in the morning, but then I woke up and actually did it. Now I have to wake up repeatedly throughout the night to check the time because I don’t have an alarm clock.

Alarm clock? I give up trying to sleep and get out of bed around 4:30 am.

I have a Labrador Retriever. They don’t have snooze buttons. They just get more annoying if I ignore her.

I have Alexa set two alarms. If I go back to sleep after the first one then I have a second one 15 minutes later. The real trick is to go to bed at the same time each night so that I’ve gotten in my needed sleep by the time the first alarm goes off.

Being retired, my alarm clock is the sun shining through my bedroom window. It don’t have no snooze button.

Mine is on the dresser and is set to a classical radio station that doesn’t do news or commercials. If the music doesn’t wake me up the gently speaking DJs speaking (not ranting) will.

I started with a windup alarm clock, and moved to an electric. My smart phone became my alarm for several years, and now it’s my watch, which I put back on after it’s fully charged. I have to put my glasses on to shut it off, so I don’t hit snooze by mistake.

The only time I set an alarm is if I have to be up earlier than my usual time. Even then, it typically doesn’t go off, probably because I’m so worried I’ll oversleep that I don’t sleep at all. I wake up weekday mornings at 5:30. Weekends I wake the same time, but go back to sleep until about 6:30 or 7 at the latest.

We each have our own alarm on each of our nightstands. My ‘alarm’ is a radio station, hers is alarms. We also have an old cell phone we use for alarm, it blares an alarm song, three times each weekday morning. Hearing the songs is warning as to how late it is.

You can buy an alarm that when it goes off, it starts ‘running’ around your room. So to turn it off, you have to actually get up to catch it first, then stop it. A friend of mine had they type of alarm clock with the two bells on the top. when it went off, it make an incredible racket. He once put it on the floor by the side of this bed, so that when it went off, he could hit it and stop it from ringing. Unfortunately, he swiped at it instead and knocked it under his bed. He had to get up to reach under the bed to get it. That woke him up alright.
