At which point it becomes masochism.

After the first time it’s experimentation. You can’t figure something out unless you try it multiple times.

I’d use the first landing (assuming I survive) as an outcome to determine if I wanted to repeat the leap.

Learning to be a stunt person – go for it. To help you along, take gymnastics and martial arts training – they are just a couple of the skills you will need…

This old Frazz fan is always wishing the Jef would name some of his other characters. And maybe bring back more often Mrs. Trevino and Mr. Uhrmann. :-)

Doing the same thing over and over is either persistence or insanity.

After that, it’s science! :-) (Gotta see if it’s repeatable, after all!)

The time to figure out if you can stick the landing is before you leave the swing.

Years ago when I was little (6-ish) we used to go to a beach on the Great South Bay off Long Island. They had a great swing/gym set on the far side of the boardwalk. My brother, eight years older than I, liked to swing way up on the unnaturally tall swingset (I swear that thing was 20-foot if it was an inch) and do a “geronimo” off it at the top of the swing. You had a great view of the bay at the top and got great air if you did it right. Well, always mimicking my brother I tried it one time. ONE time. I let go alright – and landed flat on my face with a mouthful of sand and no breath. ’Nuff for me, but it made an impression.
