I usually turn the keyboard upside down when I do that. I stopped using those cans and switched to an electric blower. The rechargeable electric blower can be held at any angle.
Opal should use a small car vacuum (with brush tool) on the keyboard first and then do all that sanitizing with the spray can. It’ll get all the cat hair up first so the spray won’t mat it down on the keyboard.
I got a box of those keyboard covers that are like shower caps. After it’s been on a while, you can really see how dirty your fingers were, the crumbs from food (I tend to eat in here while in the middle of things) and cat hair. I have a white keyboard so EVERYTHING shows up. No more gunk between the keys, either.
We had a secretary who ate crackers over her keyboard even when we asked her not to. It quit working. A coworker turned it over and a hail of crumbs rained out. Problem solved.
In this case, Opal should have taken the keyboard outside to clear, but the comic joke was all the cat hair, so it would have ruined the laugh if she did the logical thing. I don’t see it as meanness, just the cartoonist looking for a laugh. I laughed!

I’ve never had a cat. But trust me dog hair gets everywhere as well.

If you use too much it makes the cat hairs become sludge under the keys. My son has that problem and he wonders why his keyboards keep wearing out.

I can relate, I have a smaller cat and cannot believe how much hair she sheds! The dog does too, but a lot less!

How can that spray do anything but cement the hair and particles in place.

Opal, they make cute little vacuums for that.

I just looked up the definition of aerosol to make sure I have this correct. And here it is:
: a suspension of fine solid or liquid particles in gas
So I believe that yes, this would make it worse. What she needs is compressed air, with no particles mixed in.

First turn the keyboard upside down and gently shake it off.
