I noticed a LOT of Sunday strips involve Phoebe writing and drawing unicorn poems.

I used to write down a bunch of rhyming words just for fun.

Not many nine year olds know what “Watergate“ is.

No-no-no, Phoebe: “something something OBAMAgate”.

Did Stupid ever actually define what that was? I don’t think he did.

I confuzed the word “ungulate” with “ruminant” and was very confuzed for a moment.

Something, something. Christina Applegate?

isn’t it pronounced UN-gyoo-lut rather than un-gyoo-LATE?

Now, write a poem about how your friend is an artiodactyl…

Sewer grate? Neonate?

This threw me off a moment, because “ungulate” more often has a schwa for the last vowel sound.

She’s actually heard of Watergate? I was just a kid at the time. Maybe her parents taught her because they don’t trust the government, which is a healthy skill to possess.
