This reminded me of a meme I collected years ago. The caption reads: HOA of a 55 and older community told this guy he needs to cover his trash cans so they’re not visible from the street… The photo is of a five-plank wooden fence sticking out from the side of his garage, and the middle plank is longer than the other four. :-D

While home owners associations can be havens for despot wannabes, in my situation, it’s actually quite useful and not particularly onerous. They make sure the roofs and siding on our collective buildings are in good order. They make sure the parking lot and complex roads are safe. They make sure the landscaping is taken care of. And yes, they have some rules that might bother someone, like no political placards allowed (even in your windows if they’re facing outward). But I appreciate that one — I get along better with neighbors (whom I mostly just see on a chitchat level) when we don’t know each other’s politics.

Where can he park his mastodon? Do they have a lot? Does it require a permit? Does it cost extra?

It’s okay on the weekends but not weekdays? Why is that?

States are hurting for water and writing laws to overturn HOA rules on watering grass. HOA board member heads are exploding in Utah and Colorado for example.

Sorry, Bleeb. Even going back to the distant past has not broken your string of strikeouts this week. Don’t give up little buddy. Keep trying.

It makes sense because it’s going to have to dump somewhere. As long as they don’t restrict cave drawings on the inside.

My pal moved after one year when the HOA chastised him because he fertilized the little grass lawn in front of his home. His lush green grass made the neighbors’ lawns look bad.

I remember a case a long time when a homeowner was fined for not mowing his grass to the required length. That would be a problem in no mow May.

I’m pretty sure that’s a Mammoth, and therefore ok. The tusks are different for a Mastodon.

WHY does America have home owners associations where the properties are separate and not connected such as flats and town houses??
