They don’t want your advice, they want your money.

Pop has lots of experience and good advice. But he knows that they have the bit in their teeth marching to their own drummer. I.e., they won’t take it.

The kids have the internal clock to be self-motivated.

Well, based on the disappearance of his legs in Panel 4, Gus is a genie. He can easily help.

Why am I hearing the theme from “The Godfather” in my head? I haven’t even watched that movie and I have no reason to see any connection here.

Good advice Gus, “don’t beat yourself up.”

I agree with Gus, don’t fret it. Our grown/married kids have told us about their babies and such, “They” say, this is how it’s done. “They” meaning Google, etc.

    Slightly off topic.

A few days ago, Jimmy mentioned that he likes French animation. On this day in 1908, the first animated cartoon was released: “Fantasmagorie.”

(GoComics will not let me post a link to the cartoon.)

Hooray for Arlo recognizing his ignorance in the subject and his inability to give advice to the kids. His silence is soooo much better than averring to the youngsters “What I think you should do is….” without having any experience in the business and giving them useless information.

When I entered the engineering job market mumble-mumble years ago, it was more or less understood that you could have a career with a company if you didn’t screw up (and if the management didn’t screw the company up). That is no longer true and there is no loyalty either way, particularly at the management level. The younger generation perceives this and seems to think that individual entrepreneurship is a better way to go.

Sadly, many of our former beautiful and dynamic major cities have fallen. Wise tourists will stay far far away from places where drugs and robbery are rampant. And those who can afford to leave are fleeing in droves. How this will change the makeup of America is yet to be seen.

If you feel you have to say something, tell them that you trust their judgment and you support them and hope the best for them…
