Pure heaven! I have a pillow on my chesterfield that says, “Heaven is the place where all the dogs you loved come to greet you!” Not great theology but a wonderful thought!

My wife and I had a tortoiseshell cat named Moe, who is now gone. We sometimes called her Mo Mo. So seeing “Mo Mo” once again in heaven is something to look forward to.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together….

There was a post circulating on fb about an elderly dead man walking his late dog to the beautiful pearly gates of heaven, He could see inside, and it truly looked like paradise and he was told how wonderful it was but that pets were not permitted. He decided to keep walking himself and his beloved dog and came upon a modest gate and entered. A man inside welcomed him to Heaven. Confused, he asked what the first place he had stopped at was and was told, “Oh, that’s H*ll. It’s very nice inside too but we are glad that they weed out a lot of people who would leave their best friend behind in order to enter.”

A very long time ago my mother sent me to the parish school rather than the public school which I had been attending for summer school. “You need more religion”, she said. Well, Sister Mary Hitler told us that pets and other animals could not enter Heaven. Been atheist ever since.

I have a theory about Heave. I believe there is a a Heaven and if so a lot of bad people are not going to be happy. If not it is just like sleeping with no dreams or when they put you under for an operation, a complete blank.
