It’s amazing how many people think that only having one life means you should throw it away.

And stay out of Turkish sinkholes. (Did they rescue that guy yet? I haven’t seen any news in about 4 hours.)

When I was a child, my parents took my siblings and I to Crystal Cave in Pennsylvania. Took a couple of years for the nightmares from that trip to go away.

The best that can be said for people who go cave diving is that they haven’t died while doing it… Yet.

You have enough challenges with elevators in your life.

walking on a log to cross over a stream is a brave act of funambulism on Horace’s part…. if the log were to cave in, he might accidentally have to dive into the water…!

I’m not a huge fan of caves. Long as they’re big enough and someone stands watch outside. Penn’s Cave, Lincoln Caverns and Smoke Hole Caverns were fascinating, tho!

Right, I only dive into dry caves. :)

My favorite Terry Gross moment: she was interviewing some actor who said, “I mean, if you’re not pushing yourself to try new things, what’s the point of life?” To which she replied, “. . . Comfort.”

I’m with Horace… any activity that must be catalyzed by the phrase “you only live once” is not one I’m anxious to do.

Cave lakes are particularly deadly.
