Nobody takes the time to repair things anymore living in a disposable society is hard on our environment by filling landfills with old broke down appliances.

I always just rebuild things I own it saves me a lot of money .

At my old age, I am still stuck on the information super lowway. Some might call it an off road mule track!

I used to joke to my wife about “the internets”. She would ask, “there’s more than one internet?” I would reply, “There are two internets: the information superhighway and the misinformation superhighway.”

Why would my toaster need to be rewired? The original wiring wore out?

Try getting parts for a Tesla. Don’t hold your breath waiting. BTW, Musk did not start the company, he bought it.

Step 1 use the fire extinguisher to put out the fire. Step 20 After repairing the toaster, use the fire extinguisher to put out the fire. Step 21 Go buy a new toaster.

Unfortunately, many of these videos would start with the “history of toast”, proceed to “pertinent” elements of the videographer’s life story, get partway into the procedure, realize a mistake, and then back out …

I could read a print version with a couple of photographs in two minutes and be having toast before the video finished.

I tend to repair, even when it would be cheaper to buy new, because I don’t want to contribute to the landfill any more than I have to.Also, I had a ‘99 Ford Escort that I wanted to keep for at least 15 years, but the Ford service manager kept telling me that whatever parts I needed weren’t made anymore. At that point, I’d only had it 9-10 yrs. They were trying to get me to buy a new car. I was so pi**ed with them that when I did finally buy another car, i went to a dealer 15 miles away. And let the local dealer know what I’d done.
