When I was a child I read a book “Hill of Fire” by Thomas P. Lewis that described how the volcano Paricutin formed out of a cornfield. Lewis’s account of the initial formation doesn’t match reality, but it is amazing how fast the volcano formed.
Every year before the park opens a ranger comes by to check the fluid level and if it needs it, tops the mountain up. They also mow the tundra, put the boulders back, and polish the marmots.
