Where’s my “opt out” button for this stuff? The local lube-in-a-hurry franchise is already advertising “pumpkin spice lube job”. (It’s the flavor of the season for their free coffee).

Big Biscuit and others are pushing the pumpkin anything a little earlier each year. Crap, Halloween is 3 or soweeks away and Thanksgiving is the end of November. Give us a break plus most of it doesn’t taste like pumpkin anyway.

These people are out of their gourd.

I’m guessing there won’t be a One Pumpkin Spice Chip Challenge this year.

I think people may be missing the point of this cartoon; beach weather is extending in to pumpkin season due to climate change more than pumpkin spice season is extending into summer.

Pumpkin: A decorative gourd to be enjoyed at Halloween and tossed out when frozen to the porch by Thanksgiving

I’ve made a pumpkin pie filling from the late ‘40s Fannie Farmer my mom gave me in the late ’60s almost since I got the book. It has a strong ginger bite with a small amount of sugar. I’ve never wanted any other. I don’t see why all my food should taste like that. I definitely don’t want it to be the dominant sensory element in my environment. T. J’s, which I love otherwise , is a big offender. In July I found pumpkin vinegar there. If there’s vinegar there may be liqueur and brandy.

What ISN’T pumpkin at this time of year?!

SPF 80 won’t offer nearly enough protection as the Earth continues to heat up. And slathering yourself in liquid will be like basting a turkey in the oven.
