That would be a good name for an all girl band PINK SALT.

He more wisely uses regular iodized salt, and these days munches Super Beets.

Not all the same. There are deep mines near me. Some of those extract road salt and other pump water in, pump clear brine out, evaporate the brine and package either table salt or softener salt. In other places they pump sea water onto flats for the sun to evaporate. NaCl becomes a lot of types of salt.

I found a feeble marketing ploy at one store—Himalayan Pink “Sea” Salt.

Pure salt (aka Halite) is sodium chloride, and colorless. If it is pink that means it has something else in it, commonly referred to as “impurities”. The pure mineral can be ok in small doses but fatal if taken in large amounts. Impurities aren’t likely to change that in any positive way, though I suppose there could be exceptions I don’t know about.

Pink salt = cadmium and other heavy metals. Look stuff up before falling for a trend.

Pink salt is pretty, but that’s it.

Love all the different types of salt. There are subtleties in flavor and it makes a difference. But you have to be a ‘taster’ to appreciate.
