The red one kinda looks like a Dragonball.

I’ll check the intro panel tomorrow and describe it.

The book title really should be To Serve Kids.

Even with the consistently high quality of Sunday Wallaces, this is outstanding. Thank you, Mr. Henry.

As “Last Rose of Summer” said yesterday: Spud’s one step to the left, an hour late & just the wrong darn color.

I have that cookbook! Some great recipes…. Toddler cobbler, Tot taters, Chunky munchkins, Onion young’uns.

So? Spud’s got the black and white TV version.

Like 20 years ago Showtime had an adult cartoon Grahan Wilson’s The Kid (based on his comic strip Nuts) that had a sequence of a witch preparing to eat the titular kid that was truly terrifying. I don’t remember much else from it but that witch scene.

Oh so close, so very close……..

That kid seems happy in the pot, must be such a great book!

I love how even the seagull does a facepalm at Spud when he screws up!

Maybe it’s his third brother!

Such a fabulous little story told in a few panels, a mix of Halloween fairy tale and the characters in their present day, all tied up in a neat little bow like none but Mr. Will Henry can do!

Full disclosure.. I didn’t get it until I read a few comments. I just thought the colour was affected by the poor lighting of the ally ✍️(◔◡◔)

The opening panel has WALLACE the BRAVE with “the” spoken by a skull. Seagull is below the title watching a red ball skip by.

Oh, and there are a few bats.

He was the twin with the blue ball. Not the one with the red ball who got eaten. So? (I know but I’m looking at what is shown here).

The red ball/blue ball seems to be a homage to Coraline (the movie!)
