Off to a flying start!

Oh wow! They actually did have fish! Called it on Monday!

His expression in the third panel weirded me out as a kid. He almost reminded me of some kind of alien.

Should’ve had the fish for extra power.

Dang it, Calvin! You beat me! I forget most of my assignments.

That third panel gave me a migraine.

“Let’s start at the very beginning…..”

Calvin looks like a creepy mad scientist in the third panel. Brrrrr!!!

Okay, what happened to the fish?

After 3rd panel, thought he was going to say, uh oh, I need a recharge.

“and that’s half the battle!”

What homework?

Sending children to school hungry impairs their ability to learn.

Sorry to depart from humor for seriousness here, but the concept of homework is one of my pet peeves. We don’t expect adults to bring their work home with them after their work day is over, why do we expect it of kids? And some kids have doting parents who make sure their own children have well-lighted, quiet workspaces, properly supplied with paper and pencils, to do their homework, while others have parents who expect them to be making supper, cleaning house, working odd jobs, or looking after their younger siblings instead of “wasting their time” on all that foolish impractical book learning. And we wonder why there are often achievement gaps based on income levels. Learn in school! That’s what it’s there for. Afterwards just be a kid!

Calvin is doing better than I ever did. I never tried to remember my homework assignments.

Now if only he had the power to create illusions…

That was pretty fast. Now look out for the answers. Hobbes would hold back his clues for some time.

By the time class starts, he’ll begin the homework.
