She’s used this tactic before, Clayton. Either go on the offensive now or get out of the house.

It’s the nonchalant whistling in panel three that adds to that feeling of dread.

cue the dark ambient music with discordant overtones which, although broadly tonal, is inflected with chromatic and polytonal passages representing the archetypal example of a florid, melodramatic style without being interpreted as an overly heavy-handed metaphor within the context of the thematic material a bit on the frenetic and frantic side with interesting rhythmic devices which seem to counterpoint the surrealism of the underlying metaphor utilizing a novel imaging technique known as positron emission tomography

There’s a story, perhaps apocryphal, about 2 chess masters (Capablanca and Lasker) playing a match. Capa pulls out a big cigar and puts it in his mouth but doesn’t light it. Lasker complains to the tournament director that he can’t stand cigar smoke. The director reminds him that Capa is not actually smoking. Lasker replies, “Yes, but the threat is worse than its execution.”
