Sarcasm! I love it!

That’s a classic tactic.

That’s what I try to do.

I recall the words of just about every mom in the 20th century including my own, “If you can’t say something nice about someone, don’t say anything at all.”

If everybody followed this advice the world would be a much more silent place.

If you can’t make a snarky comment, don’t bother.

Okay, Aunty, You are the funniest drunk I know.

Her advice is not advised at funerals.

If you can’t say something nice – say nothing at all.

And if you can’t make it funny, publish it. :)

I kind of like this advice. Sometimes humor can defuse tension. Of course, it might not be appropriate in every situation.
