Some malware automatically sends an infected email to all your email contacts without you knowing what it has done, unless you check your ‘sent’ folder.
Some two decades ago, the virus scanner on email flagged a message. It was from someone I never heard of. After some checking, I found the message had come from a relative. The virus was using her address book twice per message: Once to find a recipient (target), and the other to spoof the source of the message.
