I know people like this, they start a story off in the middle without any context, ramble for long stretches at a time, bring in a dozen dangling sub-plots and then forget the “punch line.”
According to the family legend, our name began with a French Huguenot who successfully delivered a message through enemy lines and became known for the compliment (now archaic), “Bon pas!”
He should have just made something up: “Hi, honey, battle’s going well. Take care of the kids. Be home soon as I can.” Because guess who’s going to have to retrace every step of those 1000 miles — both ways!
