Stan Lynde’s comic, Rick O’Shay was one of my favorites. Rick’s friend Hipshot Percussion was not the kind to go to a regular church. Check out the Christmas and Easter strips found at

Verne you have a point because most Preaching was done outside at many points in history .

Too bad we actually know what their usual environment looks like, so we know they don’t actually have access to anything like this in that dried-up suburb of theirs.

Humans are the only species that feels the “need” to have a specific place to worship their gods – it should ALSO be noted that humans, the so-called “old world” humans, are the only species grouping that exhibits a need to “compartmentalize” their worship apart from their everyday living – their attitude seems to be one of, "when I’m in church/synagogue/mosque, I’m paying homage to my particular God – and when I’m NOT IN THAT SPECIAL PLACE I’m allowed to anything I dang well please…

The religion of the “new world” – called “Animism”, by those that need to label everything, states that men and all other creatures are surrounded by “god” at all times, and, therefore, a special place of worship is NOT NEEDED.

This is rejected, especially by “Western Man”, because it means that everything that is done at ALL TIMES is observed by your “god” and that EVERYTHING that one does can be and WILL BE judged…

Beautiful background, and meeting in church is just to unite us with each other. Worshiping GOD (by any name … or unnamed), occurs the rest of your time out in the world, by everything you do, and don’t do. Peace!

Religion is for the weak minded who need daddy’s approval and are scared to face life as it is.

It doesn’t count unless you’re listening to someone who preaches about giving while he lives in a multi-million dollar mansion and has a private jet.

It drives me crazy when people bulldoze a forest to build a megachurch with a huge parking lot. Happened too many times within a few miles of our house. Why don’t they just all worship in the same building, or better yet, under the trees?
