Sad. So very, very sad.
Times were different back then, kids. Especially when you saw men wearing sheets.
Things have not changed. Kids are still kids. I have kids mad at me because I don’t honk at them when they get off the bus! I would but they don’t “ask” and I don’t want to P off the neighbors!
No, but it was all he could afford.
Veeblefester is always dressed for Halloween.
Surprised mother G had anything to fit Hurricane Haddy.
and all he got was a rock.
he should have cut out some eyeholes before putting it on
Yes, it scared the sheet out of them
yes, especially when they start floating for no reason. :D
Shouldn’t Brutus be wearing a yellow shirt with a black zig zag stripe when telling the kids about his ghost costume? What a blockhead!
I had the same costume Brutus .
don’t give me no sheet
Fitted sheets can be very scary
One Halloween when I was a kid, I went Trick-or-Treating and lost all my candy due to a hole in my bag. My aunt bought me a whole bag to replace it.
Well this seemingly innocent strip has sure awakened some zombies!
Yes, Wilbur, back in the pre-Casper days, ghosts were scary. Though, now, you have Alien creatures like the Gorn which are much more frightening.
Do you think people are afraid of your costume Hattie? It’s not the costume they are afraid of.
Halloween is definitely one of the days I wish I lived where it’s warmer. Costumes and snowsuits don’t always go together very well.
Sheets worn back then were a warning sign to surrender your candy to me or else. Bwa ha ha ha,….
Unless you take after Charlie Brown and have so many holes in the sheet that it looks like a piece of Swiss cheese.
In some ways, it was a simpler time; in other’s not so much.
Happy Halloween everyone.
Sheets over your head denoted something worse in the Confederate South.
I love Brutus’ look in last panel!!
