I suppose if this is the American version of the Wizard of Odds, then the western front is Californio, and it can be said, “Gosh, Toto, it looks like we aren’t in Kansas any more!”
The book was written by a German survivor of the war and dedicated to those who, although they escaped the bullets and shells were scarred by it none the less. It was an instant hit in Germany, France and the UK as it spoke to the men who’d been there regardless of uniform.
for those who haven’t read the book, (and for the love of god disregard that netflicks film form last year) you follow Paul Baumer through the horrors of WW1 as his friends slowly die around him. You learn about his fears his loves his hopes and his limitations. all that and on October 11, 1918, he dies. Everything you’ve seen is gone and is lost and all the official war office communique for the day says is “ALL QUIET ON THE WESTERN FRONT” that is all his life counts for.

It’s not the Western front but the arrows in the sand could be a scene from a western.

You are right, that is either the northern or southern front, depending on if it is sun rise or sun set.

The biggest threat to the US and its allies is China especially in the Far East. Look up Rapid Dragon system.

Viewed from where I’m sitting, those arrows would be coming from the east.
