Ever since primitive times, when the tribe just upstream or over the nearest hill — the humans most nearly like you on the whole planet — were your chief competitors for your particular ecological niche but also your primary sources of exogamy, we’ve had a love-hate relationship with those who act, think, speak, dress, etc. like us.

Amusing having that line in the comic Junco did the pencils for (does he do the inks, too? Is it all on computer now?)

True artists publicly praise other art but grit their teeth and hate them in private. :)

It’s because you have to CARE to be a really good artist.
