I’ve been receiving Christmas catalogs for months now.

Red was hoping for his latest edition of “MAD” magazine!

Might need a wagon to get for all those Christmas catalogues inside.

I loved the ginormous Sears and Monkey Wards catalogs. So many toys and the UPS man would bring them in a brown truck!

This is not satire.

Ah, the annual Christmas catalog onslaught! Even now I get catalogs from companies I’ve never heard of and won’t use—such a waste. (But look how happy Rover is, just to be going out!)

Spam, 1970s style.

I love looking at those catalogues. All the silly gifts out there. But the cheese and gift basket catalogues make me hungry.

Does anyone still mail Christmas Cards?

Wow! The mailbox is a distance from the door, for sure! I get lots of holiday catalogs, too!

Okay Red, stuff it all back in the mail box, go back to the house and tell your mom that the mail is here. After all she didn’t ask you to bring in the mail, she just asked if it was here yet.

At my house those catalogs just go directly from the mailbox to the recycle bin without even entering the house in between.

Red …… Lucky for you Dr Lick was right there for you …… when you got inundated with all the “JUNK” mail ….. :)

I could tell it was the Christmas shopping season when suddenly the mailbox was full of sales fliers and catalogues. Sadly, hardly any Christmas Cards. I guess we don’t need them now that we all chat online.

Did a relative of Big Nate stuff the mailbox?

I remember them being much bigger/thicker volumes, which would have had a tragic outcome.

Ah! Catalog season. I sort of miss it. Sears is gone, Wards is another store that bought the name. Mom had her Avon catalogs. Dad had JC Whitney. We kids had the Sears Wish Book. (sigh) Maybe I should subscribe to Sharper Image. They have all the good toys in my age range (third childhood).

Yep… the problem with Christmas these days is all the ’… isms". The worst being commercialism.
