Sadly there are a lot of people who try to make their life happier by having other people change the ways that they live.

Fortunately there are places to get help for your codependences, IF you are ready to actually start changing yourself.

There’s a technical difference between Self Improvement and Improving your life.

I resolve to give up unreasonable expectations by making resolutions. (That’s one’s good for more than just a single year.)

I resolved several years ago to lower my expectations.

Conflict resolution would be good.

I imagine self improvement implies a quest for happiness. However, happiness is not a goal. If it is, you’re already on the path of disappointment.

Does anyone think that Danae will ever improve?

It appears that Danae has be sent to her room for a long time judging by the pile of dishes around her bed.

Resolutions should be reasonable to be possible. But reason went bye-bye years ago, so good luck with that.

May everyone have a happy, healthy & safe 2024.

I knew a guy like that. Asked to reflect on improvements he could make, he named improvements the world could make for him.

Dads are expected to make more money.

I make a resolution to be more resolute, but I quickly gave that up.

Danae is so unselfish, she doesn’t even know what „self“ means. Lovely kid.

I don’t like to make promises I likely won’t keep, so no resolutions for me

My husband thinks he is perfect. I offered to make up a list of ways he could improve. It would be a very long list. His mom spoiled him and let him think he is the center of the world.

Happy New Year to all my fellow gocomics commenters, and may whatever god, goddess, gods or goddesses you worship (if any) grant you good health, peace and happiness in the coming year!

I am envisioning a gender-reversed version of “Bruce Almighty”, starring Danae….“Danae Almighty”.

Odd, My kids gave the same list. I have only stopped laughing to put this up.. Kids ask why I drink, my answer is to look in the mirror.

In every comic’s life there comes an a s s h o l e with a political comment on a non-political comic, and today is no exception!

So "My resolution is that you should resolve to … ". Oh, yes, that’ll happen.

Here’s a head-up, Danae — as long as you see yourself as a victim, you’ll be one. And when you demand / agitate that your perceived oppressor / victimizer make things better for you, you’ll have ceded any power over your status and self-attitude to that other.

Remind me not to marry her when she grows up.

Danae thinks the world should revolve around her. But reality keeps spoiling her ambitions.

And, as usual, someone can’t just leave politics alone for holidays. That must be a sad, and lonely life.
