The romantic Spell was broken, however, when a mass of wriggling tadpoles inopportunely took that moment to sweep en masse along the brook. The couple both took it as a sign to put the brakes on things, before the inter-action became inter-lewd and ended up becoming inter-something else.

To the bridge they were wont to trudge/

Where they each aired a lingering grudge/

Then, the grudge being aired/

To their home they repaired/

Unresolved- because neither would budge…
