I wonder if the people who still imagine Hobbes to be part of Calvin’s imagination – as I assumed he was when I started reading the strip in November 1987 – imagine that Calvin only imagined the snowball or whether they accept that Calvin was hit by the snowball but imagine that he is only imagining that it was thrown by Hobbes.
It’s strips like this that make me consider the possibility that Hobbes is really alive: How could Calvin hit himself in the back of the head with a snowball?
