Separate trees would solve this enigmatic dilema

Our main tree – whether we decorate it together or I do it – has the same ornaments in the general places year to year. I do it in sections as we have so many ornament none would be noticed otherwise – bears, angels, bells, etc. – with other ornaments mixed in between.

The problem with most people is that everyone is excited to put up the decorations, but no one wants to help take them down.

If the “big colored bulbs” means the old incandescent C9s, there’s a company that sells a good LED replacement that looks like the old style bulbs. They ain’t cheap, but neither is running a bunch of C9s for a month.

Now that I consider it, Arlo is perhaps the best example of a loving husband in the comics. No wandering eye, no denigrating his wife for laughs, or any of the other toxic tropes many comic (and even TV) husbands display.

I have always appreciated Robert Heinlein’s definition of love: “love is when someone else’s happiness matters more than your own.“

I love warm white lights and huge wreaths in my windows. Color lights set deep in the tree. The way the color lights sparkle and play off the various ornaments I have collected over 40 years is ethereal.

That’s the way it’s always been in my family. Grandmother, mother, wife, no matter – the women like the dull, boring, no-imagination white lights. WHY? White lights could go anywhere for any occasion. But multi-colored lights – especially in red and green combinations – spell CHRISTMAS!!! Oh yeah, my wife and I do indeed have separate trees next to each other in our living room!!!

We have about 3 trees, one is the main tree for the kids and family, then my wife has her Angel Tree all white lights, and my Pick Ceramic Tree in honor of my Brother. I used to do lights around the house and my shed, but my heart is in it, but lights go out, too old to climb and bend like old days.
