Hated GD in basic and AIT in the Army….REALLY hated the LP’s in VN, lucky I only did 2!

I figured GD meant Guard Duty, but never having been in the services what do the other acronyms mean?

Did the solar eclipse make him doze off?

“11 in the mornings and all is well” (phew!!!)

Falling asleep on guard duty could be fatal!

Good thing that Id’s enemies don’t do night-time raids!

Let’s just hope the Huns didn’t pick that night to invade.

Sometimes it seems like staying awake can be the hardest thing to do when it’s pretty much the most important thing to do.

Yeah, falling asleep on guard duty is usually an infraction dealt with by instant death. At least in wartime.

From a former Lurp. REMF, Rear Echelon Mother F——r. Guys that got paid the same as the infantry but slept in a bunk and ate three hot meals every night. And probably never saw the enemy. Hated by the guys in the field.

Actually reading all the cartoons I follow has the same effect on me!
