I gotta ask WHY funky sold the celebrity photo of a dead man to some guy despite knowing johns daughter lived in town. And why thus strip decided to do this big self congradulatory arc that doesn’t remotely explain monotonis for readers who either haven’t read funky or some guy making fun of funky on the internet as I have.
I guess they didn’t even bother cleaning and/or painting the walls, as the faded paint from where the pictures originally hung is still there. Wait, shouldn’t it be DARKER where the pictures were covering the wall?
But at least the counter and floor are shining like the sun. I was glad to travel from Milford to take care of those.
“Darling…. John Darling. Now that’s a name I’ve not heard in a long, long time. Long time”….. “My uncle says he’s dead”. … “Oh, he’s not dead… Not yet”. … “So you know him?” …. “Of course I know him! He’s me. I haven’t gone by the name of John Darling, oh, since before you were born”.
It occurs to me that MoPete is a prime example of what Professor Lawrence J. Peter (The Peter Principle) referred to as “compulsive incompetence.” That is, having been successful in the comic book, movie, and comic book cover fields, MoPete is now compulsively jumping into a new career where he might finally rise to his level of incompetence. Y’know, like Elon Musk, who couldn’t reach his level of incompetence making electric cars and rockets, and so decided to take over running a social media company.

“Eating pizza just won’t be the same unless you have this picture of this guy who was murdered 30 years ago on your walls. Merry Christmas!”
